The Alliance offers, and delivers FREE training opportunities to residents and any member of a community or voluntary sector group based in the East End of Newcastle, including workers.

  • STEPS - A personal development programme for adults to increase confidence and self-esteem.
  • Go For It - A personal development programme for young people aged 14-18 years.
  • Introduction to Community Development - Accredited at Open College Network North East Region Level 2 with 3 credits.
  • This course aims to give people more confidence and skills to be involved in their local community. It explores what community development is and how it tries to "bring about social change and justice".
  • E.S.O.L. Classes; includes computer interactive software for English conversation practise. delivered in partnership with ACANE and Newcastle College delivered at The ACANE Centre, 1 Raby Street Byker; Ring Gaby or Eva on 0191 2658110 for more details.
  • Asylum and Cultural awareness sessions - Informal sessions covering all the questions you have on Asylum Seekers, Refugees and Migrants; and what the differences are between them. These sessions can be taylored to you or your groups requirements. Contact Robert for more details and dates.
  • Childcare is FREE on all courses but MUST be requested in advance
